10 clubs show interest in NCD Taekwondo trials

Ten clubs have so far shown interest to participate in the National Capital District Taekwondo trials scheduled for January in preparation for the 2016 PNG Games.

The first selection trials are scheduled on 23-24 Jan in the lead up to the Games which will be held in November at Kimbe, West New Britain Province.

This is in a series of three trials before a final selection is done on 31 July.

NCD taekwondo instructor, master Jamuga Stone, says they are expecting about 15 clubs to participate in the first trial event.

He urged clubs in NCD to register their fighters for the first trial with clubs from Central and Gulf provinces also invited to participate to provide more competition.

Nomination fee is K150 per club and competitor’s registration fee is K20 per athlete with registration to close on 31 December 2015.

All proceeds will go towards the levy fees for Team NCD taekwondo squad selected for the Games.
