World Water Day to be commemorated

Water PNG will be commemorating World Water Day 2017 with three programs in Lae, Morobe Province, this week.

The programs include a float parade, a workshop and a launching program.

On Wednesday the float procession will be conducted throughout Lae City for half a day.

The National Trade Waste Policy Stakeholder Consultative Workshop will also be held simultaneously during the day. 

Some of the topics to be covered during the workshop include Global Trend in Trade Waste Management and Water & Sewerage Quality Standards & Sewerage Treatment & Disposal

In the evening the state company will launch its Pearl Anniversary 2017 Campaign.

The events will be attended by Water PNG Board Chairman, Gary Sweet (Pictured), CEO and Managing Director, Raka Taviri, and senior management.

World Water Day is held annually on 22 March focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

The theme for 2017 is “Wastewater.”
