Young chamber eye APEC meets

The Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce aim to be part of discussions during key APEC meetings this year.

YPOMCCI President, Megan Gangloff, says while nothing has been confirmed yet, they aim to be part of the key discussions involving youths and business.

“We try to get more of the young professionals to attend these type of meetings get the information that they need, whether its to do with their business or not, at least they understand whats happening around their community, when it comes to APEC” said Gangloff.

The YPOMCCI held a networking event recently, which is part of its efforts to build confidence among its members and other young professionals.

“A lot of networking events that are hosted around Port Moresby, there’s a lot of younger professionals that feel intimidated to attend these events because they think it’s more of the top management, mid management people that attend these sort of events.

“So we try to set the platform for them to boost their confidence and know how to benefit from meeting people, exchanging business cards, talking about the industry, whichever they are in, and how they can grow from there,”  she said.

Since 2015 membership and activities of the YPOMCCI has grown.
