Stop n Shop Central Waigani reopens

Stop N Shop Central Waigani finally re-opened its doors to the Port Moresby public almost three years after a terrible fire forced it to shut shop.

A relieved City Pharmacy Managing Director, Mahesh Patel, said the reopening was a testament to the resilience, dedication, and camaraderie of staff and management during very tough times.

The reopening coincided with the unveiling of the new Stop N Shop and City Pharmacy logo.

At 12 noon, the revamped Central Waigani shopping complex opened its doors to surprised shoppers.

CPL Managing Director, Mahesh Patel, management and staff were present to ensure the reopening ran smoothly.

For Patel it was a huge relief to get the shop up and running again.

He said the reopening was a testament to the resilience and camaraderie of CPL management and staff.

The reopening unveiled the new logos for Stop n Shop and City Pharmacy which had a local flavour.

Patel said the old logos had a disconnection despite both brands owned by CPL.

He said the brand evolution is to have to have all brands under the same umbrella.

The shop has Boncafe with a sitting area, two clinics at City Pharmacy, a big meat section, bakery, and a modern liquor store.

There is also a standalone Prouds Duty Paid store offering extensive ranges of chocolates, perfumes, jewelleries, cosmetic bags, and fashion items.

The Shops produce section houses 70 per cent of its vegetables from local suppliers.
