Exposure for local companies

Local companies are being given exposure on the same platform as Australian companies at the PNG Industrial & Mining Exhibition in Port Moresby.

The two day event, which began yesterday, features 47 exhibitors  from PNG and Australia showcasing a wide range of products and services for the industry and mining resources sectors.

Event organiser, Renae McElligott, from Trans Tasman Media, said: “It’s an opportunity for Papua New Guinea products and services to be put on display amongst Australian exhibitors and companies.

“We want to put Papua New Guinea companies on that platform as well.”

McElligott added that objective of the exhibition was to strengthen the relationship between both countries within the resource sector.

Markham Culverts, a local firm which is also an exhibitor, said this was their second participation in the event.

Senior sales coordinator, Bruce Oso, said the exhibition has helped the company to network and engage more clients.

“We saw that there were a lot clients that came on board and they were requesting more products, mostly in the mining sites, and eventually we got businesses from them,” he said.

The two day exhibition ends today.
