Pukpuks to use same side for American Samoa game

Wesley named 12 debutants in his starting 15 that beat Tahiti 32-10 last Saturday and he was pleased with their performance.

He said there were no major injury concerns adding that only winger Wesley Vali will be rested after suffering concussion during last Saturday's win over Tahiti. 

"We have a few niggling injuries but the boys are otherwise fit and ready for tomorrow. I will be using relatively the same side who made a few errors in the Tahiti game, but we've fixed this.

PNG Pukpuks beat Tahiti 32-10

PNG were slow to find their form while Tahiti dominated possession early on.

Anthony Tesquet had a chance to score first points for Tahiti but his penalty kick fell short.

PNG got the ball rolling midway through the first half when a break out on the wing saw Jacky Marcus dive over to score.

An unsuccessful conversion from Nigel Genia left the score at 5-0.

Genia got it right the second time, kicking a penalty goal to extend PNG’s lead.

PNG Pukpuks side named for Oceania Rugby Cup

The Oceania Cup will be played at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium from August 22nd-30th.

PNG, Solomon Islands, Tahiti and American Samoa will take part this year.

The last time PNG Pukpuks were crowned Oceania Champions was in 2011 when they beat Niue 36-7.

The Cook Islands are the current Champions having won in 2013.
