POMRFL AGM deferred again

The 2016 Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) has been deferred yet again this month.

Administrator of the POMRFL, Meke Maino, explained that the first AGM set for January 21 at the National Football Stadium did not take place because no clubs had paid the affiliation fee of K1,000 for this season.

He said the AGM was then scheduled for today (January 28) but has now been moved to February 3 as there are still six clubs yet to pay the affiliation fee, plus other clubs haven’t submitted their financial and operations reports.

“To all clubs, the AGM will not proceed this evening. Only eight out of the fourteen clubs have produced a receipt of the 2017 affiliation fee.

“Only three of clubs have submitted financial reports. The AGM will now be held on February 3,” said Maino.

Maino sounded out a warning to all clubs saying they must pay the affiliation fee and submit their reports no later than 5pm, February 1.

“After that, any club not ready will get a fine notice,” said Maino.
