PNG Games: Volleyball happy with facilities

Volleyball sports competition manager, Joey Sena, has expressed satisfaction with the volleyball facilities for the BSP 7th PNG Games.

He praised the West New Britain organisers, through the host organising committee (HOC), the provincial government and the PNG Sports Foundation (PNGSF), for beating all odds to provide standard facilities not only for the PNG Games but for future events of this magnitude.

Despite the technical challenges that slowed the starting of the pool games, Sena is happy with the progress of the competition, which comprises 12 female teams and 13 male teams from 13 different provinces.

According to Andrew Ikufu, technical coordinator, there is still a lot of room for improvement and growth, especially in terms of logistics and support, which were lacking in the initial stages of the games.

The code is currently in the pool competition for both pool A and B and expects to go into the quarter finals by the end of this weekend, if all falls according to schedule.

Competition result update is pending on confirmation from PNGSF.
