Hunters shoot to top of the ladder

The SP Hunters are leading the Intrust Super Cup competition.

After nine rounds, the Hunters have accrued 14 points - from seven wins and two losses, with a points for and against of 54.

The top 6 are: SP Hunters (14), Easts Tigers (13), Redcliffe Dolphins (12), Townsville Blackhawks (12), Sunshine Coast Falcons (11), Souths Logan Magpies (10).

Coach of the Hunters, Michael Marum said last weekend’s 26-10 win over Northern Pride came from a good effort from his team.

“The win was a good way to end the first nine rounds of the competition.

“We were a bit rusty the first few games of the season, but the more games the boys play together, the better.

“We just have to turn up every weekend and make sure to play our best footy,” said Marum.

The Hunters will have two weeks off with this weekend being the representative round followed with a bye in round 10.

Round 11 will see the Hunters take on the Ipswich Jets on May 20 at North Ipswich Reserve, Australia. The game will kick off at 3:05pm.
