Competition manager, Stanley Hondina, said this is to ensure the competition is better prepared and gives teams ample time to prepare.
Hondina said a deadline will be set for all teams to register and the new competition to be scheduled before the end of this year.
“At this stage we are planning to close off everything confirming the new teams, the new competition formats by the end of November so as this year finishes we should know which teams will be playing next year so give them ample time to prepare.”
He said this is a new approach to bring more professionalism to organising the competition.
“We’ve got to get better. We got to keep improving and we’ve started improving to some extent and we remain confident that we can continue to improve and get better,” said Hondina.
Meanwhile, Hondina has commended the PNG Rugby League fraternity for the successful hosting of the Intrust Super Cup match in Lae.
