Acting Commander of the PNG Defence Force, Colonel Raymond Numa, has congratulated all teams that took part in the 2017 edition of the Commander’s Cup.
10 teams from different barracks and units in the country converged upon Murray Barracks to battle it out in the biannual event.
The tournament was played using the rugby 10s format.
“We all came together to show the spirit of comradeship and being together in showing the colours of unity. Thank you and congratulations to all the teams. Well done,” said Numa.
Numa also gave thanks to God for the success of the three-day tournament.
“It’s been a wonderful three days. I’m very excited and very happy and will brief the Commander when he gets back from his leave on Monday.”
He extended his appreciation to the sponsors and Defence Minister, Solan Mirisim, for their support to the tournament.
In closing, Numa said the 2019 PNGDF Commander’s Cup will be hosted by HMPNGS Basilisk.
