Atoi involves youths in soccer tournament

About 23 teams are now confirmed to participate in the Louta Atoi Soccer tournament underway.

The venues will be at Bonus, Hutjena and Tarlena and prize money of K11,000 is up for grabs.

Youths in north Bougainville have praised the Member for North Bougainville for such an initiative that brings people together. A youth spokesperson from the Taonita Tinputz area, Stanley Pakita told Loop PNG that at least we have an event to celebrate New Year with.

“We would like to thank the honourable Member for North Bougainville Louta Atoi for sponsoring the tournament. It’s one of the most significant events for youths,” Pakita said.

“This is a perfect period for youths to indulge in a lot of partying activities and sometimes it turns out nasty so to keep them out we have to keep them busy through sports, and Louta Atoi has done the right thing by sponsoring the tournament,” he said.

The games will be played in three different locations one in the Tsitalato constituency at the Hutjena oval, and across the passage to the Selau constituency the Bonus field which can be seen from Buka town, and at the Bishop Wade Secondary school ground in Tarlena.
