Male voices needed in fight for development of women

The fight for a better world for women and girls needs a collective voice – it needs male voices as well.

David Rupa stressed this point during the young women’s forum on Thursday at Crowne Plaza, hosted by the YWCA.

Rupa is an advocate who began his path with YWCA’s youth and adolescence health.

He has been advocating for women since.

In a brief speech, Rupa shared his experience as a bully victim, and going on to become a widely recognised advocate and a recipient of Digicel PNG Foundation’s Global Young Men of Honour.

Rupa firmly focused on inter-conversation when dealing with women’s rights.

“There are men out there who stand with women, who don’t see women as competition but counterparts in nation building,” he said.
