Education will drive women empowerment

Education is the main agenda that should be pursued for women empowerment.

Miss Queen Emma Chocolate 2017, Niawali Twain, spoke about this as her main agenda when standing for the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant.

The 23-year-old Medical Laboratory Science student is empowered to make a difference and inspire young people out there to better themselves.

“Many times, young people forget about striving to work towards making something out of their lives.

“We need to aim to be better and make a difference in the world,” she said.

Twain highlighted the need for young people to not lose focus and make something with the opportunities given them.

Sharing the same sentiments, current Miss PNG, Kellyanne Limbye, spoke about the need for women to step up and take the challenge to be more.

Limbye says women are strong and should be given an opportunity to build on their strengths.

She adds that such initiatives like the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant is a good way to highlight the need to pursue women development agendas.

Meantime, this year’s Miss Pacific Islands Pageant crowning is set for November 11th.
