Warako Storms take on Joyce Bay Rooster in Kaugere league final

The Moresby South Rugby League finals is set for this weekend with two old rival teams ready to battle for the 2016 premiership title

Warako Storms of Gorobe will face the fearless Joyce Bay Roosters as both teams go head to head to find the league champion while in the reserve grade the boys from Two-Mile Hill, the Southern Sons will take on Sabama Raiders for the B grade title.

In the A division, Storms made it to the finals after defeating defending premiers Gabutu Dragons last Sunday at the Taurama Rugby League Oval while Sabama Raiders who also made their first finals beating  Talai Spartans.

President of the Moresby South League Brown Murema said the association has scheduled the finals to Hubert Murray stadium, however, due to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup the venue managements did not allow them to use the stadiums.

“Patron of the competition Hon. Justin Tkatchenko has also asked us to host the grand final back here on our home soil to promote league in the community,” Murema said.

“Our grand finals are now set for this weekend here at the Sir William Skate Oval in Kaugere.”
