Simple Life to perform as opening acts for Big Mountain

Port Moresby band Simple Life will be performing as opening acts for international group Big Mountain this weekend.

Big Mountain will be performing live for the second time in Port Moresby at the Lamana Gold Club this Saturday May 14. Big Mountain first performed in PNG in 2013 at The Gold Club.

Known for hit songs, Can’t Hide, You, Money, Where is the Love and Politician, Simple Life band consists of six members who come from mainly the Southern Region. 

There are lead vocals Rima Setae, Anthony Rake on the keyboards, bass guitarist Andrew Mahuru, lead guitarists Brendan Rageau and Steven Orea, and drummer Jack Los.

The band is excited and looking forward to performing as opening acts for Big Mountain.

The band formed in 2009 and released its first album Simplicity in 2013 and sold about 500 copies nationwide and throughout the Pacific in countries like Vanuatu and Tonga.

Lead vocals Rima Setae said it’s an honor and privilege to perform in front of one of their favorite reggae band ever.

Setae said they’re fortunate to be selected against other big name artists as opening acts for Big Mountain.

“We will be belting out two of our hit songs and invite all our fans to come along and support our performance and watch live on stage Big Mountain perform.

“Our performance will be better than before and you will see an upgrade from our last performance last year during the reggae week at Lamana,” Setae said.

Also performing as opening act is newcomers Ky Ragga band with lead vocals John Valea honoured to be part of the event as it is a breakthrough in their music career.

Tickets are on sale at Lamana Hotel's reception with the early bird tickets sold out. Tickets are K100 Arena K100, Balcony K250 and The Temple K350.
