PNG, New Zealand eye Olympic glory

​Stage two of the OFC Women’s Olympic Qualifier 2016 gets underway this Saturday as Papua New Guinea host New Zealand in the first home-and-away play-off.

This match will get underway at the PNG Football Association Academy pitch in Lae and will kick-off at 2pm.

The return leg will be played in New Zealand which is scheduled on 26 January at QBE Stadium in Auckland.

The winner will advance to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament set to take place during the 2016 Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 5-21 August 2016.

New Zealand go into this match as overwhelming favourites having more international exposure while the home girls have a proud history in women's history picking up four consecutive gold medals at the Pacific Games.

PNGFA confirmed that the PNG team are preparing well in training camp in Lae coached by Lisa Cole and assisted by Racheal Wadunah.

New Zealand is set to arrive in the country this Thursday and will transit on to Lae.
