Pink Ribbon Brunch launched

In conjunction with women’s cancer awareness month, the PNG Cancer Foundation will host the annual Pink Ribbon Brunch on October 28 to raise funds for its awareness.

The funds raised will be used to help cancer control and prevention in Papua New Guinea and assist with PNGCF’s provincial free cancer screening and awareness programs.

The Pink Ribbon Brunch is sponsored by National Finance Ltd and will be held at the Laguna Hotel.

National Finance sales manager John Dickinson said during the launch today that they’re proud to be the new sponsor of the annual event.

Dickinson said, “We invite all our supporters to join us to raise as much money as possible to raise awareness on women’s cancer.

“It’s a worthy course because the funds raised will also go towards providing education and support for the women and families affected by it.”

This year PNGCF have 25 tables to sell with 18 tables already sold before the launch today.

CFPNG chief executive officer Dadi Toka Jnr thanked National Finance Ltd for actively being involved in the work of PNGCF.

He said women’s cancers, cervical and breast, are rapidly increasing in the country with two women dying per day of cervical cancer so we need to work together to address this.

Toka encouraged business houses and individuals to join the foundation to raise funds by purchasing a table of 10 for K3,500.

Companies who have already paid for tables and are supporting the brunch include NICTA, Kina Bank, BSP Finance, Food Pro and ExxonMobil amongst many others.

The 2016 brunch will include testimonies from cancer survivors, live music, food and more.
