South Africa did the double in the boy's and girl's hurdles while Tlotliso Gift Leotlela added the 200m gold medal to his victory in the 100m.
Fijian weightlifter Eileen Cikamatana scooped gold in the girl's 63kg category with compatriot Maraia Moana claiming silver and bronze in the 69kg division.
Hosts Samoa won a further two relay medals - silver in the boy's 4x100m and bronze in the girl's event.
Meanwhile Australia impressed on the first day of rugby sevens, with the boy's beating Samoa 24-12 and the girl's thrashing Fiji 36-0.
