Aussie volunteers to help at Nature Park

The Port Moresby Nature Park has welcomed two Australian volunteers that have joined its staff.

Shelomi Doyle has joined as a Curator - Horticulture and Geoff Underwood as the Wildlife Department Supervisor.

Both positions are part of the Australian Volunteers for International Development program (AVID), an initiative of the Australian Government.

The volunteers will be assisting the Nature Park for a period of one year.

Doyle said she was really excited to have the opportunity to be a volunteer at the Nature Park.

She said has been impressed by the charitable organization and what it provides for the community in terms of safe recreational spaces, education programs and conservation awareness initiatives.

Underwood added that the Nature Park provided the perfect opportunity to showcase and promote PNG as a tourism destination.
