Air Niugini today unveiled its third Fokker 70 naming it as “Hoskins”.
The naming of the aeroplane will coincide with the PNG Games in November which West New Britain is hosting.
Air Niugini chairman Sir Frederick Reiher said the naming also shows the contributions the province has contributed to Air Niugini for its services.
The event is significant to WNB Province as the PNG Games logo was also on the aircraft promoting the Games in Kimbe as it flies around the country.
The event was witnessed by Governor Sasindran Muthuvel, Provincial Administrator Williamson Hosea and the team from HOC.
Minister for Public Enterprises William Duma and Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko were also in attendance.
The plane will do its maiden flight to Hoskins this afternoon.
