Charity home receives K100,000

Proceeds from the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited Charity Golf Challenge, held on July 13 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, were presented to Life PNG Care on Friday.

KPHL, PNG's oil and gas company, presented a cheque of K100,000 to Life PNG Care Managing Director Collin Pake.

The charity event saw 42 four-men teams – made up mostly of corporate bodies – participate, raising more than K130,000.

However, K30,000 will be retained to assist organise other charity events.

Kumul Petroleum Holdings managing director, Wapu Sonk, commended the teams who supported the tournament, which will become an inaugural event.

The funds will go towards assisting Life PNG Care’s Strongim Pikinini Program.

Managing Director of Life PNG Care, Pake, thanked KPHL and said the outstanding funds from this year will go towards supporting 350 under privileged children in the education program.
