Do the work…

Newly-elected vice-president of the Business Council of PNG, Nuni Kulu, is encouraging Papua New Guinea to do the hard work to be successful.

Taking over the reins from Michael Penrose, general manager of British American Tobacco, Kulu joins two other Papua New Guinea women who make up the BCPNG executive board.

They include Susil Nelson-Kongoi (VP International) and Alison Judd (Honorary Treasurer).

Robert Nilkare, country manager for New Britain Palm Oil, was elected president.

Speaking to Loop PNG following the BCPNG Annual General Meeting recently, Kulu said it was a privilege as well as an achievement for herself.

And she is advising Papua New Guineans that the only way to success is through hard work.

“I feel privileged to be able to not only represent my organisation but be part of a great team, such as the business council, and be able to work outside my organisation in other capacities in building this nation.

“It’s a unique opportunity that not many people get to do so for myself, it’s probably one of the highest achievement for me.

“I think a lot of people have the opportunity to get educated nowadays in PNG and if you have the opportunity to get into a great job, you have to put in the hard work and work for it, no matter what your role or your goals are,” she said.

Kulu is currently the regional manager Southern Region for Bank South Pacific.

She was previously an executive committee member of the Council.
