Fast & Furious: Vin Diesel asks The Rock to return

It comes after a very public feud between the two Hollywood heavyweights.

In an Instagram post, Vin said The Rock has "a very important role to play", adding that his character Hobbs could not be played by anyone else.

"I hope you rise to the occasion and fulfil your destiny," Vin, who plays the lead role of Dominic Torreto, wrote.

The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson) joined the Fast & Furious franchise as Agent Hobbs in Fast Five in 2011 - but the 49-year-old didn't appear in the most recent film and has previously said he wouldn't appear in future films.

The 47-year-old announced the news on Instagram to his 154 million followers.

The pair have been dating since 2006, when they reportedly met while he was filming his movie The Game Plan, and have two children together - Jasmine, born in 2015 and Tiana in 2018.

His photos were liked more than seven million times within three hours of posting.

Being one of the biggest film stars in the world, The Rock (real name Dwayne Johnson) was congratulated by Hollywood A-listers when he posted about the surprise wedding.

Dwayne Johnson made the announcement on Instagram, indicating his delight at getting to act the part.

King Kamehameha is renowned as the founder and first ruler of the Kingdom Hawaii, uniting the warring Hawaiian Islands.

Johnson, a former Hawaii resident in his formative years, is not only the lead in the film project titled The King, but is also a producer through his Seven Bucks Productions company.

Johnny Depp is in the top five, one place ahead of his Murder on the Orient Express co-star Daisy Ridley, who has Star Wars: The Last Jedi counting towards her total.

Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, lends his celebrity to the similarly themed "Rock and a Hard Place," which hews closer to reality TV than most of HBO's nonfiction efforts.

The film centers on the Miami-Dade County Corrections & Rehabilitation Boot Camp Program, which seeks to break the "cycle of incarceration" by putting 38 young men, all facing prison sentences for serious crimes, through a 16-week boot camp conducted by military personnel.
