‘I owned up to it’: Roosters captain Tedesco breaks silence on ‘Squid Game’ scandal

The champion Sydney Roosters fullback was investigated by the NRL’s Integrity Unit after a night out in Bondi where a woman of Vietnamese descent claimed Tedesco had made a reference to the South Korean Netflix series Squid Game.

Speaking at a low key NRL season launch on Thursday, Tedesco took responsibility for the incident.

“It was disappointing as a leader and a role model for the game,” Tedesco said.

Ruck, the key to Nines

Pearce admitted the Roosters were still coming to grips with the Nines version of the game in the first two tournaments but is expecting an improved showing at this year's event, taking place at Eden Park Auckland on February 6 and 7.

"It's different, and to be honest in the first year nobody knew how to play it," Pearce toldroosters.com.au.
