LFA is intact: President

The Lae Football Association is intact and will not be diverted.

President Roy Kamen said this during LFA’s congress on Sunday (March 12) at the LFA clubhouse.

He said they had taken the risk to make that decision but it was good for the future of their children in soccer.

"It's a very risky decision we have made but it was good for our children in the future. And I thank each and every one of you who have stood by us to reach that decision.”

Kamen said this after taking his post as president from his senior vice president, Andrew Nirik Mata.

It was also the first congress meeting after LFA joined Football Federation Papua New Guinea (FFPNG).

He said for far too long, they had been taken for a ride without any soccer development at LFA and it's about a change for the better.

LFA was suspended by Papua New Guinea Football Association with 11 other soccer associations throughout the country.

Kamen stated that LFA has made a decision to join FFPNG and would like to support the new Federation as much as possible.

He said there are many corporate supporters of soccer who will come on board when the competition is in full operation.

LFA has retained the following as their executives for this season: Roy Kamen (president), Andrew Nirik Mata (senior vice president), Haiveta Kivia (general secretary), Stanley Khana (junior vice president) and John Peka (game fixtures chairman).
