Emmanuel comes out on top

The Flame Flour 2017 Final Fight saw amateur turned professional boxers, Chiko Emmanuel and Roger Wanji, go head on in the 69kg division.

This was the 4th event hosted this year by the PNG Professional Boxing Gymnasium.

The first undercard fight saw Roger Wanji in the blue corner all the way from East Sepik take on Chiko Emmanuel from NCD in the red corner.

The Flame Flour 2017 Final Fight on Sunday was the first professional fight that these two boxers have entered into and they did not disappoint.

The first round saw Emmanuel step up with jabs that caught his opponent off guard. The red corner came prepared and it showed as the fight went on, ending round 1.

Round two saw Roger Wanji come out with some unorthodox boxing, which saw him tire out quicker.

Emmanuel took advantage and with a cross punch to Wanji’s head, won the fight in a knock out just 2 mins and 30 seconds into round 2 of the bout.

Pro-boxer and Brisbane-based Jamie Pang was on hand to do the presentation of prize money to each of the boxers.
