Budget rollout set for 2023

Prime Minister James Marape stated briefly on the funding allocations of the 2023 budget that was passed down late last month.

He shared this during the handover of the audited financial accounts for Mineral Resources Development Company for years 2018-2019. 

Prime Minister Marape stated that a record budget K24 billion was delivered and look forward to fully rolling out the budget, tailored to lift the people tin helping the people to a better place.

“You will see more allocation to the police for the first time including retiring former police awards that no government has attended to them in the past. We putting money for additional 20 Supreme Court and National Court judges.

“We giving more support to the Magisterial Services in next year’s budget, for the first time now next year our own government allocation infrastructure exceeds our loan and donor components next year governments own money exceeds are for our public road and infrastructures,” he stated. 

The Prime Minister added that passing the 2023 budget is a highlight completing 2022; another highlight is COVID-19 in tough times and the global effects of the war in Ukraine. 

He concluded that the 2022 was tough but by God’s grace made interventions for small people, kept the economy afloat and running a composed economy into 2023.
