Weightlifter Mauel Minginfel has lifted Federated State of Micronesia to their first gold medal in the XV Pacific Games.
The 69kg Pacific life and snatch winner took the big prize with a 120kg lift, as the last man standing.
Meanwhile, Patrick Pasia grabbed silver for Samoa with a lift of 116kg and the bronze went to Stevick Patris of Palau with a 115kg lift.
The best of the Papua New Guineans was Frank Oala with a 110kg lift. The clean and jerk challenge in the same weight division will start soon.
