Chance for young PNG designers

Young architectural designers will be given an opportunity to redefine the possibilities and advocate a new livingscape through the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award, courtesy of South Pacific Paint.

The competition will be launched in Lae (Unitech) next Wednesday and will run until September 30.

South Pacific Paint operations manager Andrew Clarke said the company will launch the award for the first time in Papua New Guinea.

“This is a competition that Nippon Paints runs throughout Asia and this year PNG will be included,” Clarke said.

The award offers an opportunity for students in Diploma year three and onwards to show, learn and connect with professionals in architecture.

It will create a platform for competitors to showcase their designs; earn international exposure; and network with regional students, judges, developers, associations and lecturers.
