“Yu em Khax” audition continues in Pom

Due to high demand, the auditions for the “Yu em Khax” talent show remained in Port Moresby for another round this morning at the Murray Barracks Sport Complex.

A good number of contestants turned up early in the morning to get in line first for auditions before the judges turned up at the location.

Producer for the “Yu Em Khax” talent show, Ailynn Sokot says the “Yu Em Khax” production crew had to prepare and set up the stage the previous night so that we could just kick off with the auditions and not keeps the contestants waiting.

Sokot says last week auditions saw more than 300 people register to audition and from the 300, 50 were selected.

From the 50, 10 contestants were selected for a call back audition of which they auditioned again and were further judged.

Finally, three contestants were chosen by the judges including a Wild Card Winner.

The Wild Card Winners will be announced this afternoon after the end of the two weekends of auditions.

Sokot says today’s auditions will also be the same as last weeks as will be the other auditions in the other centres in the PNG.

“The criteria and requirement for contesting individuals and groups to audition is that they must be 18 years or above,” Sokot stresses.

The judges will be looking at the contestants’ originality and creativity, their value of entertainment, their skill levels as well as their aesthetic appeal and stage presence.

The auditions will continue for the whole day today until 5pm this afternoon and residents in Port Moresby who would like to take part in the “Yu Em Khax”  talent can make their way to the Murray Barracks Sporting Complex to audition their to the top.

Sokot also thanks Paradise Foods Limited for their contributions and sponsorship towards the “Yu Em Khax” talent show.

  • Mt Hagen, November 19 and 20, venue to be advised
  • Kokopo, November 26 and 27, venue to be advised
