Bando who is also the Chairman of the Hela Election Steering Committee is challenging his suspension due to the urgency of the upcoming election.

His lawyer went to court yesterday and again today, but was unable to move the urgent application because the state was short served the application and counsels with the files did not appear in court.

He is asking the court to set aside his suspension.

It is also seeking the interpretation on whether strict rules of evidence should be complied with when a leader’s conduct becomes subject to a Leadership Tribunal.

The case briefly came for mention today before Supreme Court for directions.

Justice Collin Makail adjourned the matter to next week after he allowed Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and Speaker of Parliament, Theo Zurenuoc, to be joined as parties in the reference.

This was revealed during a meet between the administration of all secondary level institutions in the province, the provincial administrator and education council, on Friday.

Chairman of the Provincial Education Council, Cosmas Bauk, told the principals: “Don’t resume until the culprits are apprehended.

“Only a minority are jeopardising the entire student body’s education.

“Blacklist those students!”
