Lae City scores big win

Lae City scored four goals in a wild 10-minute period late in the first half of their clash with Lautoka that killed off the result.

Lae manager John Golupau said the result was a big improvement on their 3-3 draw with Henderson on Saturday.

“In the first game we made a lot of mistakes that we worked on in training,” he said. “We came into this game well prepared.”

With only 3 months away from the tournament, the team will be on tour for a month playing matches against selected teams and schools in New Zealand to upskill their fitness and skills for the coming event.

The coach in charge of the youngsters’ development, Harrison Kamake, believed that the matches would have dual advantages.

Exposure has been the key word of stint with the young players, to help them develop their carreer and skills and combinations between players on the pitch.
