Higaturu refuses to entertain K50m compo

Popondetta General Hospital Chief Executive Officer Dr Gunzee Gawin told Loop PNG however,  that the company responded saying they will look at individual victims and assist them.

He said the company refused to entertain the petition but will still compensate the victims and the deceased in their own way.

The relatives of the deceased had  given a seven days ultimatum to the company to respond to their petition.

The deadline lapsed last Friday.

They are demanding K50 million as compensation from the Higaturu Oil Palm.

Seven days ultimatum given to Higaturu for K50 million compo

Ijivitari MP David Arore, who was negotiating on behalf of the relatives told Loop PNG this morning that the seven days ultimatum will lapse this Friday.

The relatives presented the compensation demand to the company on Saturday.

They are demanding K50 million from the company.

Meanwhile, Arore said the mass burial will be held tomorrow.

The road accident happened last Monday which claimed 13 lives.

The incident involved a PMV loaded with passengers and an Oil Palm truck.

Oro leaders to meet with Higaturu over K50m demand

The relatives of the deceased in the road accident are demanding K50 million from the company.

Ijivitari MP David Arore told Loop PNG this morning that the company has been neglecting the people of Oro for years and not paying compensations whenever their vehicles were involved  in accidents.

“The people have shown their grievances and demand the company this amount because of the company’s neglect in paying compensations.”

Aore and Sohe MP Delilah Gore will be leading the team to negotiate with Higaturu oil palm.
