NZ volcano eruption victims still fighting for their lives one month on

Twenty-six others are still in hospital in New Zealand and in Australia, with some still requiring round the clock care and fighting for their lives.

The island itself is still off-limits; scientists say its peak activity may have come and gone with the eruption, or this might be the start of something bigger.

The Advancing PNG Women’s Network, CDI Foundation and Hela Meri Never Give-Up are running a 2-week earthquake relief appeal in Port Moresby.

Seven days ultimatum given to Higaturu for K50 million compo

Ijivitari MP David Arore, who was negotiating on behalf of the relatives told Loop PNG this morning that the seven days ultimatum will lapse this Friday.

The relatives presented the compensation demand to the company on Saturday.

They are demanding K50 million from the company.

Meanwhile, Arore said the mass burial will be held tomorrow.

The road accident happened last Monday which claimed 13 lives.

The incident involved a PMV loaded with passengers and an Oil Palm truck.
