Mojo Social café opens to an upmarket feel

Melbourne Cup is the ideal event to get out of the office and socialise, says Dan Pasley, General Manager of the New World group of companies in Port Moresby.

Cafés and Bars like Mojo Social, part of the New World group, take opportunities like this to present the perfect venue to celebrate such events.

Mojo Social is the newest dining destination opened only in May this year.

It is located on the Ground Floor of PWC Haus, Harbour City, Port Moresby, with an open area bar.

The five-month-old café took to host its first Melbourne Cup luncheon yesterday, giving its customers a fresher feel of the day.

Mojo Social provided luncheon meal deals, from which the proceeds go to Links of Hope Foundation.

The café also invited its customers to come dressed and be judged for its fashions on the field competition.

According to Pasley, who was one of the two judges, two customers chosen wins a trip each to Rapopo Plantation Resort in East New Britain Province.

“For our Fashions on the field competition, the criteria we looked at is mainly tropical formal attire. Horse racing is a prestigious event and fashion comes with it. It is also a time to celebrate the begining of spring and socialise,” he said.

Mojo Social is a sister company to Edge Café, also situated at the Harbour City and Jackson’s Tales, located at the Jackson’s International Airport.

It is already building a reputation as the place to be, standing out from others with its menu swaying towards a more Mediterranean type of food.

Pasley says, Mojo Social has begun serving lunch for at least two weeks now, open from Monday to Friday and dinner beginning 5pm till late from Monday to Saturdays.
