Book centre’s open day underway at Ela Beach

The Adventist Book Centre (ABC), under the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Central Papuan Conference, is currently staging its annual open day at its Ela Beach headquarters.

With special prices on books, Bibles and hymnals, DVDs and CDs and uniforms, the event is already attracting hundreds of Port Moresby residents.

Ronald Kolias, an accountant with ABC, said: “We normally have it on the first day of November, so this is the only one for this year”.

“But we also have it for our other centres like Madang and Manus, which take place over a couple of days.”

For ABC, Kolias says this is an opportunity to witness to the public.

“Our main purpose is to get the books out because we know that the resources we give out will help a person.

“Hard copy lasts longer and can be shared, which is a good way of witnessing.

“So when we reduce prices, we get to witness to a bigger number of people,” he said.

The open day will continue until 2pm today.
