The people of Bialla in West New Britain Province now have a new bus stop shelter and waiting area thanks to Bank of South Pacific (BSP).
The small town received a newly constructed bus stop that was completed and handed over by the BSP branch staff as part of their community project for 2016.
The staff assisted with the project by digging gutters around the bus stop shelter, painting seats, posts, frames, installing rubbish bin stands and did a general clean up, while the construction of frames was done with the support of a local contractor.
The branch also donated a 9000L water tank to Vilelo Primary School located out of town in the Government Land Settlement Scheme block. The school does not have a water supply plant and relies only on two water tanks. The tanks cater for approximately 400 plus students and staff with their dependents.
Bialla Local Level Government (LLG) Manageress, Sabina Misili and Vilelo Primary School Principal Leo Pokas, both expressed gratitude for the Banks contribution to the community.
Area Manager – NGI, Jeffrey Singer, while handing over the project to Bialla LLG said that, BSP recognised the need of improving community living standards in which we live and operate in.
