Huge turn up for signing with KPHL

A large number of people were turned away from the signing agreement between beneficiary groups and Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL).

Scores of men and women tried to get into Crowne Plaza Hotel where the signing ceremony is to take place, but were turned away by security and police personnel.

The unhappy group crowded in front of the entrance to the hotel premises demanded to be let in but to no avail.

KPHL staff only let in identified landowner representatives and several witnesses to the signing.

The signing today is between the beneficiary groups from PNG LNG Plant site, PNG LNG Pipeline, PDL 9 – Juha, PDL 4 – Gobe, and the Fly River Provincial Government, with KPHL Managing Director, Wapu Sonk.

The five beneficiaries have exercised the vendor financing option and in so doing have acquired 25.75 per cent shares in KPHL (Kroton No 2) which holds the States 16.57 per cent interest in the PNG LNG Project.
