The Pacific Dawn visited this beautiful coastal peninsula on the northern tip of Papua New Guinea with its load of nearly 2,000 tourists.
More than 640 tourists booked land tours dubbed "Wewak Highlights" with local operator Sepik Adventure Tours while many more took private tours of this scenic coastal township.
Many of the tourists were former Wewak residents who had lived and worked there in the 1960s and 1970s or the children of those former expatriates returning to their childhood home.
