Many of the tourists were former Wewak residents who had lived and worked there in the 1960s and 1970s or the children of those former expatriates returning to their childhood home.

njoyed visits to Mission Hill overlooking Wewak, took a dip at beautiful Wom Beach after visiting the nearby Wom War Memorial Park or took a nature and cultural tour of Maur Village.
