Popondetta Primary School

The school administration initiated the pre-independence celebration for staff and students, to promote Papua New Guinea’s diverse cultural values and Christian ethics, as a lead up to PNG’s 46th anniversary of self-governance.

The event ran under the theme ‘Promoting Culture and Christian values’. Students showcased their cultural significance and identities in their regional groups, on the second day of the event.  

Those are the advice given by a vocal Governor for Oro Garry Juffa today when visiting the largest primary school in Northern Province, Popondetta Primary School.

Juffa visited the school after the students’ request that he should visit and look at the situation of overcrowding of students in the classrooms and the deteriorating conditions of the buildings.

He told students to not look at the situation and give up but to strive and achieve their dreams.
