Repentance Day ends on high note in capital city

Hundreds of city residents started swarming through the Sir John Guise stadium gates for the Planetshakers concert by 4pm, leading to a standstill in traffic. By 7pm, the outer stands were packed while the pitch was 70 percent filled with youths, especially high school students.

The Australian gospel band’s performance was part of today’s National Repentance Day program that was organised by the Body-of-Christ.

Hundreds flood stadium for gospel concert

Residents started descending on the stadium as early as 4pm and soon a heavy traffic hit the streets around 5pm.

The NCD shuttle buses ferried some attendees while those who could not be accommodated walked to the stadium.

By 5:30pm, there was a mad rush as security personnel and Police officers tried to manage the large volume of crowd going through the stadium gates.

Christians from all denominations flooded the stadium to end the National Repentance Day, which started at dawn today across the capital city.
