Admiralty forces draw against Dwellers

The Manusians caused the upset of the day, leaving the hosts scoreless at nil-all throughout the game.

 

It was one of the best defensive side the visitors displayed at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium (SIKS) in front of a vocal crowd.

Though it was tough in both halves, it was a relief for the Manusians to hold a top team scoreless.

Dwellers' own trusted  striker Nigel Dabinyaba and skipper Raymond Gunemba were locked all throughout the game while Admiralty had a field day upfront.

Gigira steal 3-2 win over FC POM in extra time

Gigira took a 1-0 lead before half time when July Elijah scored in the 34th minute to put Gigira in front.

FC Port Moresby responded in the second half through a double from Jamal Seeto to see them steal a 2-1 lead in the 69th minute.

But Gigira leveled up a minute later through Ian Yanum.

The game looked certain to go into a draw with the clock winding down.

Newcomers Erema Gulf FC beat Huawei PS 3-2

 

Erema were first on the board in the 3rd minute through young Michael Gita.

Huawei PS struck back in the 20th minute through Henry Ronny and again four minutes later through Steven Mais to take the lead.

Both sides had equal chances to score more points but could not find the back of the net leaving the score at 2-1 going to the break.

Huawei PS threatened to take over the lead in the opening minutes of the second half when a cross from John Baulo to the boot of Ronny sailed above the bar.

Madang FC and Admiralty ready for the game

Madang FC Coach Bob Morris has named the first eleven aiming at targeting the Manus fast game.

Morris says the team will be captained by strikers; Vanya Malagin and Max Sengum while Midfield will be controlled by Hanson Tirimo and Samuel Kini. In the backline will Langarap Samol sweeper, Nigel Malagin and Vincent Worio on right and left backline respectively while Ray Romo looking after the central defender.

The two wingers are Maskulan Pulung and Darren Steven and Lien Manase will look after the goal mouth.

2015-2016 NSL season launching this Wednesday

This will see all 12 teams display their franchise club uniforms.

 TNSL Competition Manager, Simon Koima said everything was set and he is looking forward to a big season ahead.

All 12 teams have been divided into the Southern Conference and Northern Conference.

Teams in the Southern Conference are Hekari United FC, Rapatona FC, Erema FC, PS Huawei FC, Port FC Moresby and Welgris FC.

Teams in the Northern Conference are champions Lae City Dwellers, Madang Fox FC, Goroka FC, Besta United FC, Gigira Laitepo FC and Admiralty FC.

12 teams confirmed for National Soccer League season

For the first time, the competition will be played in a two tier format consisting of the zone conference league and the national league competition.

The 12 teams will play round robin matches for ten weeks in the Southern Conference and Northern Conference.

The Southern Conference comprises clubs from the Southern region and Northern Conference comprises of Momase, New Guinea Islands and Highlands regions.

Teams in the Southern Conference are Hekari United FC, Rapatona FC, Erema FC, PS Huawei FC, Port FC Moresby and Welgris FC.
