Laloki hospital assessment

The hospital staff had initially planned to undertake industrial action as the last resort in getting immediate response from the department.

The workforce assessment is vital in determining the hospital’s workforce structure and possibly its legal status, eventually leading to recruitment of more manpower to cater for the increasing number of patients the hospital is receiving.

Director Medical Services for Laloki Hospital, Dr Ludwik Nanawar, said the Health Department team visited the hospital last week to carry out the assessment, which was completed last Thursday.

Dr Nanawar said they will now compile a report to be submitted to the Health Secretary to go through and then deliberate on the hospital’s workforce structure.

He said the hospital has given them seven days to respond however, they have requested for an extension.
