Holiday Inn Express, Port Moresby Reopens Doors

The perfect base to get business done while in Port Moresby or start a PNG adventure, the hotel closed operations on April 16, 2020 following the first travel border closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whilst the hotel remained closed for sale from 2020, a number of rooms were utilised as overflow from the Holiday Inn & Suites, in 2021. Two years on and this smart hotel choice for the business and leisure traveller reopens offering all the essentials of a great hotel at exceptional value.

Arts Theatre Gets Support

Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding recently at Holiday Inn’s Cassowary Park. The commitment was sealed with a sponsorship value in kind of K57,675 and handed over to MAT’s President, Bob Stanley from IHG PNG’s Area General Manager, Mauro Leone and Holiday Inn Precinct Hotel Manager, Rashmi Tulsiani.

Leone, said, “We’ve had a relationship for four years, but this year we stepped that up and wanted to be involved in more programs... Theatre is very important for the country. It’s a great way to promote the culture.”

Holiday Inn staff visit children ward at PMGH

Hotel Manager, Holiday Inn Express, Ida Golu who led the team said based on the theme of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Foundation “Gift of kindness”.

Golu says he wanted the staff to take time out from work to visit those in need and present them little gift packs.

“The team was grateful enough to spend a few minutes with the children and their parents, as this small act of kindness goes a long way,” he says.

Acting Nurse Unit Manager of the pediatric ward 1B, Zillah Wama, thanked the Holiday Inn team for the wonderful gifts presented to the children.
