Village association to raise funds for new library

The association plans to host a fundraising dinner scheduled for May 20 at Stake House in Goroka.

The library will serve about 500 people that live in the area and nearby villages including Kofica, Kabiufa, Gamuga and Makiroka.

The library project will include a learning centre for women and girls.

The library and learning centre will consist of books, internet access, sewing machine, oven and conference room for girls and women to learn basic life skills.

Rural village praised for launching development association

The Gasagasa Development Association (GDA) was launched this week with a mission to empower rural village people with life skills and knowledge while bringing basic services to the community.

Most of its goals are adapted from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Police officer Sargent Naomi Mara of Rural & Urban in Policing congratulated the people for forming the association in their village as this will help cut down on law and order problems.

Village association aims to build rural library

This will help improve literacy level in the community and empower women or girls in the Notofana area.

The building will be powered by 5 X 250 w solar panels.

Village launches development association

The Gasagasa Development Association (GDA) was launched with a dedication service event on Monday, February 27.

GDA was just formed with a mission to empower rural village people with life skills and knowledge while bringing basic services to the community.

Most of its goals are adapted from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Villager Josupo Hollowe highlighted that they formed the association to work together with government agencies, donors and non-government organisation.
