NCC lock in 100 Duran Farm allotments

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed last week to move this project.

The Duran Farm came about in 2014 after the National Executive Council gave the approval to implement the Public Servant Housing Program to relieve the public servants from the housing dilemma.

NHC Principal Legal Officer Abel Tol clarified that under the new management, NHC to date has actually progressed with the project.

Housing Underway For NHC Staff

NHC Managing Director, Henry Mokono revealed the good news to the staff during a thanksgiving reception held recently. He said about 200 units of the Duran Farm Homes will be allocated to NHC staff once completed.

At the event, a few staff were recognized and awarded for their performance and contribution with the presentation of certificates. NHC’s two longest serving employees, Rau Siare and Lucy Tovue were also recognized. Siare joined NHC in 1975, while Lucy joined a year later.

Housing: Priority for public servants

This is from Housing Minister Paul Isikiel after 63 land titles were made available to them by the Lands Department.

Isikiel says government departments are supposed to have their staff fill in application forms for homes built at Gerehu 3B and Duran farm outside of Port Moresby.

For private citizens, Isikel says application forms can be obtained at the “sales and marketing section” of the office of the National Housing Corporation.
