BSP School Kriket Programme

BSP School Kriket Programme launched for 2018

The program for the year was launched at Wardstrip Primary School in the National Capital District (NCD) today.

“Today marks another successful year of the popular BSP School Kriket Programme in PNG,” said CPNG Game Development/Training Manager, Vaianna Gabba.  

The BSP School Kriket Programme was initially launched in 2009 at Wardstrip Primary School and has grown to be the biggest junior sports program in PNG and the East-Asia-Pacific (EAP) Region.

The 14-man Hebou PNG U19 Garamuts squad that will be travelling on Saturday to Apia, Samoa, to compete at 2018 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup – East Asia-Pacific Qualifier 2017 are all products of the BSP School Kriket Programme. 

Cricket PNG’s regional/Kriket Blo Olgeta (KBO) coordinator, Vaianna Gabba, was delighted to hear this news.  

“We are proud to say that 100 percent of the 14-man Garamuts squad making the team are products of the BSP School Kriket Programme.

500 students join BSP School Kriket Blast

500 students will take part in the carnival. The successful hard ball cricket competition is aimed at teaching students basic cricket techniques and skills.

Students from Babaka, Kalo, Kaparoko and Keapara will compete in the girls and boys under 13s and under 15s competition.

This will see schools from the four villages – Waevu primary, Avala, Avurigo and Parela primary – go head to head.

Cricket PNG regional manager, Lista Oala, commented on the success of this term’s carnival launch in Central.

Schools Kriket program a success in NCD

Once again, for this terms’ break, the carnival will see more than 300 students  participating in the successful hard ball cricket competition with students learning basic cricket techniques and skills.

Students from Sevese Morea Primary, Taurama Primary and St. Theresa’s Primary in the National Capital District (NCD) will be competing in the girls’ and boys’ under 13s and under 15s competition.
