Journos receive awards in GBV, HIV reporting

This was the theme for the 2017 Media Awards on Excellence in Reporting on Gender Based Violence and HIV and/or AIDS, where 5 outstanding journalists were recognised.

In an event hosted by the UN AIDS and UN Women last night, nominated journalists were called up to receive their awards for the stories they had written that had caused a nationwide response toward HIV and gender-based violence (GBV).

Wells gets top award in pioneer program

This was in the first ever Advanced Sport Management course of the Managing Olympic Sport Organizations (MOSO) program.

Wells, along with colleagues Sophia Tuna, Clarence Palin, Suluet Tarasomo and Helen Havora, who pioneered in doing the course in PNG, excitedly received their certificates after completing six modules of the MOSO, which was held over six weekends in Port Moresby.

The final assignment was delivering a presentation on one case study they had written on their individual national sports federation.

K7,000 award for top performing students

Sir Peter told the nursing students on Tuesday that the top student each year would receive K7,000 straight into their bank account from Bank South Pacific.

The students, all from provincial groups other than Enga, were told that the province would become the choice province for education and health in the next five years.

Every province, except Gulf and West Sepik, has students attending the Enga Nursing College at Sopas.

The Governor treated his own 61 Enga students at the college to dinner with their subsidies.

Air Niugini wins best SOE employer award

Chairman Sir Frederick Reiher, has congratulated the airline’s management, employees and unions for their hard work in securing the award.

The award was presented by the PNG Human Resource Institute at its national conference in Port Moresby last Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

Sir Frederick also congratulated Air Niugini's HR General Manager, Rei Logona, on being named the best individual HR Practitioner for 2015.
